Magazines are one of my favourite things to collect. I find people who are unbreakable in collecting old age magazines in perfect succession to the most current ones without fail, as legends. As one of the many “collectors”, I buy, read and store magazines. But one thing I couldn’t keep doing for a lifetime is, to keep everything. I always thought that the issues were too “outdated” or rather a new bulk to fill in another useful, now useless space.
Referencing from my previous post on Artistic Farts no. 4 , I’ve been working on my collages and constantly collecting notable photos, pictures and graphics anywhere and everywhere. These are one of my experiments plus watercolour works in progress, with a more disheveled style. With that situation given, I will partly give up on my magazines by cutting my favorite pictures away and sell them to a junk shop or recycling centre nearby.
Here are some works I’ve done so far…
Eyes on You
Refuge: Marina Abramovich
These are the other things I’ve been working on. I’m warming up my sketches for the continuation of my series plus getting on some exciting new stuff I consider to be new to me and stuff I want to master.
As usual, as any student would be bothered by the workload the administration sends him/her, we couldn’t be more excited to spend the rest of the summer in a fun, productive way. Learning and mastering new things are one my progress goals during the summer. How about you? Be prepared to hear more from me over the 3 months of academic idle!
